from the Novatel (either front or back entry) is a side street with lots of good restaurants, a bar, convenience stores etc.
Prices are good, food excellent and all offer free transport if you want but it really only takes 10 minutes maximum walk.
I found the Novatel excellent for accommodation, we had a one bedroom unit which had its own washer/ dryer, large screen TV in lounge and slightly smaller in bedroom, DVD player. Best was a large balcony with an outdoor setting to hold 4
In my opinion the restaurant in the resort was overpriced and over attitude with average food. While the menu had a range of beers on it in reality all they had during my stay was Bintan (No problem there) but at prices to repay the national debt.
The beach club is good, again an easy walk or use the complementary shuttle. Towels,deckchairs and umbrellas etc free but watch out for drinks or snacks. The best part is you can enjoy a good clean beach without the hassles of hawkers or other ‘pests'
