I was at the Jayakarta last Jan in the private apartments & was not impressed at all. I found them dark & depressing, though nicely furnished. The maintenance issues were ongoing (stayed in x3 pairs of interconnecting apartments with my family) & ALL had maintenance & cleanliness problems. This was enough to taint our holiday.
As stated in my prior post, others seem to love the Jayakarta but I guess it's a matter of standards.
In my opinion, there are much nicer places to spend valuable holiday time. If I were comparing the two, Kartika wins hands down.
