Just returned from a wonderful and hectic holiday in paradise. First installment of many interesting days.
Brite Smile
The thought of getting my teeth whitened is exciting, yet scarey. What the hell, i'm 46, haven't had botox or liposuction so here goes, vanity taking over.
The surgery is wonderful, if you could ever imagine a dental surgery as wonderful, pleasant might be a better word.
Sitting in the chair i realize this is it. Everything is sterile shinning and gleaming. Geeze, should i do this or just bolt. The door opens and in comes the dentist, yup, he's Balinese. He goes through the procedure. Ok, i didnt understand much at all, "will it hurt"?is the only question i ask. "Tidak", well i know that means no.
They had told me it would take 1 hour, but that's not in Bali time, it takes two hours, super bloody poo (because I cant say the s word on here), how can i sit for two and half hours with my mouth open. Well i can talk under water so it should be ok.
They coat my mouth in Vaseline, i think and then put a huge, whopper mouth guard and a tongue thingy in so i won't gagg, guess what? I gagg. After adjusting i don't spew. The treatment is for two hours in four lots. While each session is done a blind man, yeh that's right, blind man massages my arms and legs. Guess what? He finds my bruise on my leg but can't see it, strong massage, fists clenched, can't talk, ouch, hold my breath.
Session four, thank god, jaw numb, bum numb bruise aching. The laser gun reminds of the alien eyes from the war of the worlds.
Finally finished, out comes mouth guard, clean teeth. I'm not looking, really scared, slowly open my eyes. Oh, my goodness, were are my sunnies, bright teeth. I'm over the moon with my bright smile, 6-8 shades whiter.
Would i do it again, hell yeh, would i go to the same dentist, yes. as good as any in Australia.
Cheers Kerrie
