Going soon so lets get the JBR out of the way now just in case I decide to say there. Well at least it is done and out of the way. Now I can concentrate on my holiday.
1. Had a good flight because its only a little over 3 hours.
2. Can't see much for the movie though because I didn't watch it (had a book to read instead). Beside I probably brought the DVD while there.
3. The meal wasn't memorable but who cares because I had a good meal after I arrived.
4. Can't remember if I have none, 1 or 3 Bintangs on the flight. There were plenty more waiting for me on arrival.
5. Taxi from airport to the hotel I think was 40,000 Rp or was it 45,000 Rp, like I am worried about 80 cents when it has cost me $80 to get to Perth Airport. Actually now I remember, I had the hotel pick me up. Think it was 80,000 Rp but will have to check on the bill. At least that way it just goes on the bill (and I get points).
6. Ate at the hotel some nights. Yes it cost a bit more but I couldn't be bothered going out and I had a good time and enjoyed the meal.
7. Paid 80,000 Rp for a watch, 150,000 for another and 220,000 Rp for another, Why? Because I liked them. Didn't barter for them, as I had no goods or services to exchange. But hey, the haggling sure was fun. If you want to know the difference Goggle or Wiki it.
8. Can't remember what it cost for a cab from Tuban to Legian or Sanur markets. Know it was nothing compared to what I spent shopping in those places.
9. Made a couple of calls home and sent a couple of SMS's on my mobile. Also a couple of calls to book the driver for longer trips. (Not my driver as I don't own him I just pay him for services rendered). Used my Telstra phone with roaming. Spent all of $10.55 over 2 weeks. So who cares, I was on holidays and didn't want to spend it on the phone talking to the kids or work. Turned it off and left it in the safe must of the time. Found that works a treat and you can actually enjoy a holiday without interruptions.
10. Paid 18,000 Rp each for 10 T-Shirts. Actually got them for 13,000 Rp each but had such a great time haggling that thought the extra tip was worth it.
11. Didn't get to S&S and didn't meet anyone there.
12. Changed all my money at Kodak or PT Central. No problems, they gladly took my money and gave me some of theirs.
13. Went to Dr Rudy for a dental exam, nothing wrong with my teeth. Sure am worried about all those CuppaChups on the counter in his surgery though.
14. Threw 3 Kg of CuppaChups in the bin. Was going to give them to the kids but on reflection I thought why ruin their teeth.
15. Went to Macro to buy a years supply of tooth past and tooth brushes but decided I didn't need them after Dr Rudy's report. Also gave the hair gel a miss as most of mine has fallen out.
16. Was going to buy a years supply of Martha Tila for a friend but hey she is beautiful anyway so what was the need. Spent the money on me instead.
17. Some days had a great time sitting around the hotel just relaxing and reading a book, enjoying the company of others and an occasional drink. Was only going to have a drink during ½ price happy hour (or is that 2 hour) but hey I was on holidays so who cares about a couple of extra Rp spent on enjoyment.
18. Did not visit the child whose education I assist. Sorry but I am only assisting with that part of their life. They have no obligation to me and I have no influence over them or right to think I do beyond that assistance.
19. Checked in early on the way home. 1.5 kgs over on baggage and thought am I in trouble now. Smiled and the girl let it go. Well that was lucky. Hate to think that I would have to pay up. It's not like I don't know the rules after 11 trips.
20. Flight Home was uneventful except for the boring old biddy in the seat across the isle. Bloody snored all the way, and I think she passed wind a couple of times too.
21. No problems coming through Customs. Declared my booze, declared my wood. Declared my spices. They took one lot off me, that pkt must have cost 1,500 Rp.
I could go on forever with this JBR. May be it could be Pt 1 of 32 parts. Nah, if I did that you would have to reply 32 times. Lets just say that as per usual I had a great time. Looking forward to my next holiday.
Will it be Bali?
Who knows?
I enjoy every holiday regardless of where I go.
Sure beats working.
But I enjoy working too.
